| SET-IT updates/General discussion
| Tony has updated the SDC layer 2 diagram per Billy’s feedback, but not updated the upper layer diagrams yet. The layer 1 and 0 diagrams will need to be cleaned up and completely redone. Question to Tom - The connection between Emergency Vehicle and Vehicle OBE (CARMA VS04 Emergency Vehicle Response layer 2 diagram) which are the double headed arrows is being displayed in red, but on layer 1, they are being shown in green color. This does not seem to match up. Tom clarified that the two flows between the Vehicle OBE and Emergency Vehicle should be green not red, and in Layer 1 these flows are listed correctly, but incorrect on layer 2 diagrams, as he had not edited any layer 2 diagrams to do any cleanup for e.g., making sure there are no overlapping arrows. We will need to do a sync to fix these issues. Layer 2 and Layer 1 individual diagrams will need to be cleaned up for each application and then upper layer diagrams built. Jayashree will work on the layer 2 updates for the diagrams and coordinate to redo the layer 1 and 0 diagrams with Tony. Tom suggested to follow some diagrammatic conventions, and typically the objects are lined up according to their classes on the screen. We can show separate lines for communications on a bus (or vertical line), for e.g., TMC and TIC. To keep it clean, less lines are displayed. There will be a major update to all tools this summer when architecture version 9.0 comes out. New services will be introduced, and there are new flows and a revised communications view. We will be able to define interfaces more clearly, and it will not affect the physical views as we have them currently. There will be some changes with regards to automation to provide extra clarity. There are OMG (Object Management Group) DDS (Data Distribution Service) standards used in the current version of SET-IT, and in the next version as well. If we use DDS, we will get a high bandwidth. For CARMA, we have started the migration plans to ROS2, and also plan to use DDS with V2X Hub. We do not know whether it will be 5G or LTE communications between vehicle and infrastructure yet. We will be using CARMA Streets concept in the near future.
