Architecture Diagrams

SET-IT architecture diagrams feedback:

• We have received comments from John, Tony, and Tom Lusco. We have started addressing Tom’s comments, but are also waiting for others to provide feedback.

• Volpe does not have any comments. Billy would us to highlight the “commons” aspect of the SDC. SDC is not just for an analyst, it is also a place where secure data is shared across entire DOT, university partners etc. We should show data products of activities going on; add roles for e.g., “independent evaluators”, “DOT Research Partners” roles etc. It will be helpful for users of SDC e.g., for someone coming from outside of these systems.

• Tom mentioned that the solution would be to show common users on the appropriate diagrams by adding more “humans” boxes, create new elements, and assign them same object type as on the diagrams.

• We can be fairly explicit in the diagram in showing who we think SDC users should be, or show external systems that SDC provides data to; and the showing the integration perspective will be good. People icon is important and it will tell at a glance to the deployers what the roles are. Multiple users and use cases will drive the point home.

• Tony will add a comment on the SDC layer 1 page to make updates. Billy will send his feedback to us for the updates to SDC diagrams.

OSS4ITS ATCMTD presentation - Jayashree is updating the draft version sent to Deb on 5/20, and will be sending her the updated version.

Project Status

• ODE Support: We had a call with Tony and Wyoming team to review issues. There are three remaining open issues. For the lat/long offset issue with TIM message, we are trying to figure out whether it is a code or a data issue. Sudhakar will discuss and prioritize the signature validity issue with Deb, since it is an enhancement.

• V2X Hub: The Final report has been submitted with updated diagrams. We have not received any response from Carl. Denise will follow up with Carl on approval status, and Deb will check with him as well. Sudhakar had a call with Omni Air, and they want to use V2X Hub as a testing tool. We do want to hear about their requirement, so we can work with them.

• CARMA: Planning and re-planning right now as more information becomes available. Testing will tentatively start on August 1, and we are figuring out the schedule to return to campus currently.

• Work Zone Updates: Tony mentioned that the updates are coming along well. Working on updating the CAMP tool. There were some errors and these issues have been fixed and working now. WZDx translator is working; WZDx tool message is partly working. RSM.1 encoder is only developed in GUI format, and worked into a command line format. Finished auto uploading/downloading into data cloud so it can work with V2X Hub (which needs an API), so it is working on cloud and vehicle sides. He has prepared a presentation for meeting with WZDx team on Friday. He will discuss plans for his on-campus testing. Since the current plan for on-campus testing is tentatively August 1, Tony will send a request with his planned dates so that his testing can be prioritized when campus reopens. He will bring his own vehicle, and does not need much equipment for testing. If we need physical setup we can do that, else that is fine. He should send a request to Jim Bittner who is coordinating the return schedule. Deb mentioned that they are making exceptions as needed for priority items.

• Next item of work will be the integration work for V2X Hub with ODE.
