Previous V2X Hub Layer 1
The V2X Hub Layer 1 diagram shows all the physical objects for V2X Hub application and the functional objects that are needed to support the various service packages that are involved, and also the interaction between these physical objects.
The diagram shows a high level overview of how V2X Hub communicates with different physical objects like vehicles, infrastructure, pedestrians and emergency services, by acting as a translator and a data aggregator/disseminator for infrastructure components of a connected vehicle deployment.
V2X Hub takes in data from vehicles via Basic Safety Messages (BSM) in a Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) standard format and translates the data to a National Transportation Communications for ITS Protocol (NTCIP) that infrastructure components can understand. And it translates Signal Phase and Timing (SPaT) data from NTCIP to SAE and sends it to the Roadside Equipment (RSE) for broadcast to mobile devices, including vehicles.
